TrendTech is a Lisbon-based B2B SaaS founded in 2021. We build the security-awareness platform we wanted to use when we were on the customer side.

How we work

TrendTech was founded in 2021 in Lisbon by Pedro Santos and Sofia Pereira. The founding observation was that the security-awareness software category was structurally underbuilt — vendors had spent the previous decade competing on content libraries and pricing, while the underlying behavioural-measurement layer barely moved.

Our thesis is that security awareness is a measurable behavioural surface that responds to instrumentation. Build the instrumentation right, and the content and curriculum follow. Build the content first, and the measurement is always going to be approximate.

We are a team of 38 people across our Lisbon headquarters and a small Berlin office, with remote engineers in Porto, Madrid, and Tallinn. We have raised one round of external funding (a 4.2M EUR seed in 2023, led by a European specialist B2B SaaS investor) and have remained capital-disciplined relative to our category.

We build for the European mid-market. Our customers are mostly between 500 and 15,000 employees, mostly headquartered in continental Europe, mostly subject to GDPR with works-council considerations baked into how they roll out behavioural-measurement tooling. This shapes how we build the product; works-council-friendly defaults are not an afterthought.

We publish quarterly behavioural benchmarks across our active customer base on the resources page. The data is anonymised and sector-segmented and is intended to give the industry a shared baseline for what "good" looks like.

Most of our team have been customers of the platform category. We build what we wanted to buy.

Measurement before content

The behavioural-measurement layer is the foundation. Content sits on top of instrumentation, not the other way around.

European by design

GDPR-compliant, works-council-friendly, EU-hosted. These are defaults, not opt-ins.

No dark patterns

We do not aggressively up-sell, we do not run multi-year auto-renewing contracts without explicit confirmation, and we do not exit-charge.

Company history

  • 2021. Founded in Lisbon by Pedro Santos and Sofia Pereira. First three engineering hires; closed alpha launched with two design partners.
  • 2022. General availability launch with eight founding customers. Berlin office opened to support German-speaking market.
  • 2023. Raised 4.2M EUR seed round led by a European B2B SaaS specialist investor. Team grew to 22 people.
  • 2024. Passed 100 customer count; native multilingual production reached 11 languages.
  • 2025. Reached 240 customers across EMEA. Launched quarterly behavioural benchmarks initiative. SOC 2 Type II audit completed.
  • 2026. Team grew to 38 people across Lisbon, Berlin, Porto, Madrid, and Tallinn. Adaptive learning paths product launched.

Where we operate

Headquartered in Lisbon with a Berlin office and remote engineers in Porto, Madrid, and Tallinn. We serve customers across EMEA with infrastructure hosted in Frankfurt and Dublin AWS regions.
